Separation of Powers
To divide up all of the power, constitution divided it into three different branches: Legislative (Congress), Executive (president), and Judicial (supreme court). The Legislative Branch was to make laws, approve treaties, grant money, confirm presidents approval, and to declare wars. The Executive Branch had to make laws, command army, and make treaties. The Judicial Branch interprets the constitution.
