Legislative Branch
The Legislative Branch was the branch of congress. This branch was made up of two houses, The House of Representivies and the Senate. These houses were to: write laws, confirm presidential appointments, approve treaties, grant money, and declare wars.

The House of Representatives had 435 members total. The requirements to be there was: you had to be 25 years old, you must be a U.S. citizen for seven years, and you must live in the state you represent and serve. Everyone in the house served two year terms for their state.

In the Senate, there were only two representatives for each state. The vice president was the president of this house and only voted to break a tie. The requirement to be part of the Senate was to: be 30 years old, be a U.S. citizen for nine years, and represent the state you live in.
